Some gifts are forgotten the next day. And there are experiences dad will bring up at the next family gathering, and the one after that, and probably every one that follows.
This Father’s Day, instead of repeating the same tie or the same lunch as always, consider something different: a night at Binn Hotel, the boutique hotel in El Poblado that has been perfecting the art of making people feel good since 2016 — quietly, without making a fuss about it.
Why El Poblado and nowhere else?
Because El Poblado delivers what most destinations promise and few actually provide: great food within ten minutes on foot, an atmosphere that doesn’t force you to choose between tranquility and urban life, and a concentration of quality experiences that makes every hour count.
Binn Hotel sits in one of the highest parts of the neighborhood. That translates into views, silence and that feeling of being above the noise without being far from anything.
The suites: where rest actually begins
The hotel has 78 rooms. For Father’s Day, two stand out.
Junior Suite Deluxe City View — 45 m²
Floor-to-ceiling windows with the Medellín skyline right in front. King bed, sofa bed, minibar and light oak paneling that makes the room feel warm without trying. Fits dad, mom and a third person without anyone feeling cramped.
Junior Suite Deluxe — 45 m²
Same size, same quality, different view: the mountains of the Eastern Andes instead of the city skyline. For the dad who prefers waking up to green.
Both include parking, laundry, room service, 24-hour gym access and pool access during wellness area hours.
La Makha: the dinner dad won’t forget
La Makha is on the first floor of Binn Hotel and has spent years being one of those restaurants Medellín locals recommend in hushed tones, as if telling too many people might ruin something.
The concept is Colombian cuisine with conviction. The menu works with ingredients from the Pacific, the Caribbean, the Andes and the rivers of the country, and combines them with techniques that don’t cheat: the flavor arrives because the product is good and because someone knows what they’re doing with it.
Three options from the menu that work well for dad:
- Grilled Rib Eye — Certified Angus Beef, truffle-infused fries and parmesan. $275,000. For the dad who eats steak without apologies.
- Pork Belly — Three-technique preparation with carrot and anise purée, pickled beets and black garlic glaze. $68,000. More technical, more surprising.
- Rice and Beef — Braised beef neck, soy-cured egg yolk and chalaca. $62,000. The dish that seems simple until you taste it.
Desserts are three and cost $35,000 each. The Coconut & Coffee Flan is what most people order.
Dinner runs Monday to Thursday until 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 10:30 p.m. Sundays and holidays the restaurant doesn’t open for dinner. Book in advance, especially on special dates.
If you want to explore the full menu before going, La Makha has its entire gastronomic proposal available to browse at your leisure.

Etro Rooftop: the toast with the best view in Medellín
Going up to Etro after dinner is almost mandatory. The bar sits on the hotel’s rooftop with a 360° view over the Aburrá Valley and a design that doesn’t shout but makes itself known in every detail.
Three signature cocktails worth ordering for dad:
- Niebla — Ojo de Tigre mezcal with 8-year espadín agave, pennyroyal syrup and mandarin lemon. $60,000. The most interesting on the menu.
- Revelación Rubí — Bourbon with rye notes, corozo syrup and pineapple extract. $45,000. Rounder, easier to drink.
- Esfumado — Aged rum, Frangelico and tamarind syrup with clarified lemon. $38,000. For those who prefer something with a sweeter edge.
Etro opens every day from noon. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays it closes at midnight.
B Wellness and B Gym: for the dad who never stops
The hotel’s wellness area includes jacuzzi, steam room and an outdoor pool with 180° views over Medellín. The pool opens from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to Sunday. The jacuzzi and steam room from 9:00 a.m.
The B Gym is on basement level 1: cardio zone, free weights, assisted bar and multifunctional elements. Open 24 hours, exclusive for hotel guests, with WiFi and Bluetooth. For the dad who trains even on his day off.
If the idea is to put together a full day with wellness included, Binn Hotel has a wellness proposal that goes well beyond the gym and the pool.
How the day flows: an hour-by-hour proposal
No official itinerary. Just a logic that works:
6:00 – 11:30 a.m. — Breakfast at La Makha.
Morning — B Gym session or time at the pool.
Afternoon — Jacuzzi and steam room at B Wellness.
Evening — Dinner at La Makha.
After dinner — Cocktails at Etro Rooftop.
The hotel doesn’t need you to leave for the day to work. That’s what makes a full night different.
