Some mornings, heading down to the restaurant just isn’t the plan. Maybe you landed late, you have a call first thing, or you simply want a slow breakfast by the window. For those days, Binn Hotel offers room service with a breakfast menu delivered straight to your room.
Before you order, know one key difference: the breakfast included in your rate is the buffet at La Makha. Room service is separate, à la carte, and each item is priced on its own.
How in-room breakfast works
Room service runs à la carte. You choose what you want from the in-room menu and pay for each item you order. It doesn’t replace the buffet included in your rate, and it isn’t deducted from it. They’re two separate services.
There’s a practical reason for keeping them apart. For food safety and to prevent cross-contamination, buffet food can’t leave the restaurant, so you can’t fill a plate downstairs and bring it up. The one exception is whole fruit from the buffet station, like an apple, a mandarin or a banana.

What’s on the in-room menu
The in-room breakfast menu is short and covers the essentials, from something light to a spread you can share:
- Eggs your way.
- Fresh waffles.
- Chicken soup, the traditional pick for a cool or rainy morning.
- Fresh fruit bowl.
- Bread basket with nine varieties.
- Cereal.
- Fried snack basket with 12 empanadas, ají and suero costeño.
- The same drinks served at the buffet.
Empanada basket, made for sharing
Twelve empanadas with ají and suero costeño is a lot more than breakfast for one. It works for a hungry couple, a family, or anyone who wants a taste of something truly Colombian without leaving the room. Traveling with a group? It’s the easiest way to feed everyone with a single order.
New to the sauces? Ají is a fresh, mildly spicy salsa, and suero costeño is a tangy cultured cream from Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Try one of each before you pick a favorite.
Hot and cold drinks
The drinks on the in-room menu match the ones at the buffet. Hot options include chocolate made with water or milk, cappuccino, espresso, macchiato, americano and Milo, and any of them can be served iced. Cold options include water and fresh juices, like orange, green juice and the juice of the day.
When in-room breakfast makes sense
The buffet is the most complete option and it’s already covered by your rate, so room service works best for specific moments:
- After a long flight or a late arrival, when you’d rather stay in a little longer.
- Before an early meeting or video call, if you want to eat at your desk while you review your notes.
- On a couples’ getaway, for a slow morning with no need to get dressed.
- When you’re traveling with young kids and want them to eat calmly in the room.
Your room as a dining room: where it works best
Every room category at Binn Hotel has a desk and a floor-to-ceiling window, so you’ll always have a spot for the tray and something to look at while you eat. The difference comes down to space.
In the Superior King and Superior Twin, breakfast sits at the desk. The Junior Suites add a living area, which gives you a separate corner to eat without taking over your workspace or the bed. The Junior Suite Deluxe City View, on floors 8 through 14, adds city views. Breakfast with Medellín as your backdrop is worth ordering up at least one morning of your trip.
The buffet is still your included breakfast
Ordering room service doesn’t change what your reservation includes. As a guest, the La Makha breakfast buffet is part of your rate, Monday through Friday from 6:00 to 10:30 a.m. and until 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. You’ll find stations for bread, fruit, cheese, charcuterie and hot food, plus eggs, waffles and chicken soup made at your table. This guide to the La Makha breakfast buffet walks through every station.
A smart way to plan your trip is to hit the buffet most mornings and save room service for the day you don’t feel like moving. You get the full spread on regular days and a slower morning when you need one. If it’s your first visit, this guide to one night at Binn Hotel helps you plan everything from check-in to the next morning.
